Forum venue: models, plans and dimensions from one dataset
Thirteen hotel rooms plus stands, stages and desks are generated by scripts from the venue spec. Plans and elevations come from the same model.
Task
“A contractor abroad needs plans, elevations and models from one agreed geometry. Every client change means recalculating the whole set.”
Solution
Parametric models of rooms and structures, seating layouts, dimensioned plans and elevations, a handover package for the contractor, with built-in geometry checks.
Result
41 filesof models in the handover package
13 roomsbuilt from the hotel's own spec

How it works
Geometry from the spec, not by eye
Room dimensions come from the venue's official spec rather than rough measurements. One such check revealed a hall section 0.8 m wider than reality; after the fix the seating and stage recalculated themselves.
One model — plans, elevations, seating
Stands, stages, desks and seating are described by parameters: podium length, screen, row pitch, aisles. Change a number and both the model and the dimensioned drawings rebuild. The contractor package is produced in one run: empty rooms, individual objects and finished layouts.
Checks instead of trusting the eye
Every layout is verified automatically: object overlaps, aisle widths, distance to the stage, clearances under the ceiling and the lighting track. That is how a side wing overlapping the screen and a seating plan with too little legroom were caught and fixed.
